Clinical case of COVID-19-associated antiphospholipid syndrome in a cardiology patientRomanovsky A.V., Levchenko V.G., Dubas V.V., Titova N.S., Giresh I.I. Summary. The updated classification criteria for antiphospholipid syndrome developed by the American College of Rheumatology and European Alliance of Associations for Rheumatology in 2023 expand the diagnostic capabilities for this disease. This article analyzes a clinical case of a 50-year-old patient initially hospitalized in a cardiology department in whom COVID-19-associated antiphospholipid syndrome was identified during the diagnostic work-up. A detailed analysis of clinical findings and laboratory and instrumental investigation results is provided, with their interpretation in the context of the updated classification criteria. The presented case highlights the need for increased clinical vigilance and more frequent screening of patients from risk groups for the presence of antiphospholipid antibodies, as well as, in the presence of a relevant family history, for genetic abnormalities associated with hereditary thrombophilia.
