Protsenko G.O., Dubas V.V.

Summary. Objectives. Diagnosis of systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) is often complicated and requires the involvement of physicians of various specialties, conducting a large number of laboratory and instrumental studies. The main reasons are the heterogeneity of clinical manifestations, the possibility of involvement of almost all organs and systems, lack of awareness of physicians about the variants of onset and course of SLE. The aim. Study aims to determine the time of delay in the diagnosis of SLE in different age categories and with different initial clinical manifestations, summarize the routes of patients to confirmation of the diagnosis. Methods. Retrospective analysis of the medical records of 167 patients who were treated at the State Institution National Scientific Center «Institute of Cardiology named after acad. M.D. Strazhesko» in the period from 2011 to 2020 was performed. 130 of them were quite informative and were included in the analysis. The results in groups were compared using the Mann — Whitney test. Divergences were considered statistically significant at P value of <0,05. Conclusions. The data obtained indicate the need for higher vigilance for SLE in middle-aged and elderly patients, in the presence of joint syndrome, isolated lesions of organs with atypical manifestations.
