Diagnostic features, clinical course and treatment of myocarditis. Current state of the problem
Summary. The aim of the study was to identify the main trends in the study of myocarditis, using scientific articles from the last five years. To address this issue, publications from the Scopus database for 2020–2025 were used, using the keywords «myocarditis», «diagnosis of myocarditis», «clinical course of myocarditis», «treatment of myocarditis». Country and region were not search restriction criteria. When searching for the words «diagnosis of myocarditis», restrictions were added to the categories «biopsy» and «MRI». When searching for the words «clinical course», restrictions were added to the words «dilated cardiomyopathy», «acute heart failure». When considering the main group of patients diagnosed with «myocarditis», it was found that men under the age of 40 are most often ill. For the diagnosis of myocarditis, endomyocardial biopsy and magnetic resonance imaging of the heart, electrocardiography are usually used. The disadvantages and advantages of all diagnostic tools are considered. Diagnostics directly affects the treatment, which is initially symptomatic, and after the diagnosis is established, the goal of treatment becomes to eliminate the cause of myocarditis.
