CASE THE DIAGNOSIS OF DIURETICS-INDUCED TOPHACEOUS GOUT IN PREMENOPAUSAL WOMEN

Summary. The article describes the case of a secondary diagnosis of gout, which occurred in a woman due to chronic abuse of diuretics. The patient took furosemide daily dose of 40–80 mg during the last 6 years in order to reduce body weight. As a result of such irrational receiving diuretics developed persistent hyperuricemia associated with increased tubular reabsorption and reduced secretion, and subsequently debuted tophaceous gout with severe articular syndrome. Tophaceous arthritis developed after 2 years from start receiving diuretics, quickly progressed and led to the development of severe joint syndrome The mechanisms of development of secondary gout in case of the abuse of diuretics or irrational reception was analyzed.
