PATHOGENESIS OF ATHEROSCLEROTIC INFLAMMATION

Summary. The main factor in the pathogenesis of inflammation in atherosclerosis is appearance in the intima of the arteries vulnerable areas hemodynamicalle extracellular deposits of cholesterol — endogenous foreign bodies, inducing granulomatosis. This property of cholesterol is confirmed by experimental. As analogues of atherosclerotic granulomatosis can serve other endogenous and exogenous foreign bodies (gout, anthracosis, silicosis, etc.).
