The role and place of inflammation in pathophysiology of primary osteoarthritis

Summary. The data of biochemical and morphological changes in the cartilage and bone tissue, emerging during aging as well as their relationship with the occurrence of primary osteoarthritis are presented in the article. The leading role of inflammatory process in pathophysiology and clinically in osteoarthritis is emphasized. It is proved the necessity of anti-inflammatory therapy intensification in this cohort of patients.
