Summary. As a result of the research it was stated that with the increase of peripheral arterial disease (PAD) stage the decrease of Stiffness Index, SOS, Т-index, ABI,vitamin D and total serum calcium levels appears. All these factors including the increase of PTH are thought to cause impaired bone turnover and low bone mineral density. Correlations that were found between total cholesterol, stiffness index, ABI, IMT and vitamin D prove the association between osteoporosis and PAD in older men.
