INDIVIDUALIZATION OF RHEUMATOID ARTHRITIS TREATMENT: COURSE TO ACHIEVE OPTIMUM RESULTS

Summary. The paper summarizes and presents current views and trends in the strategy of managing patients with rheumatoid arthritis to achieve clinical remission in the shortest possible time. Core principles of RA management identified by practicing rheumatologists include early diagnosis and referral for treatment, immediate treatment with conventional or biologic disease-modifying antirheumatic drugs (DMARDs), frequent assessments to maintain continuous control of inflammation and treatment tailored to individual patient needs. The paper provides the latest research data on choice of treatment strategies for rheumatoid arthritis and efficacy of biological and non-biological treatment. It also presents current approaches to selection of biological therapy drugs based on the research analysis, results of which formed the basis for modern management of rheumatoid arthritis. The paper a detailed analyzes of past clinical trials of biological drugs in the treatment of rheumatoid arthritis that affect patient management strategies and choosing the best method of treatment to achieve remission of rheumatoid arthritis.
