Summary. Сomparative characteristic of inflammation in a number of rheumatic diseases and atherosclerosis shows a lack of identity between them is presented. A common feature for inflammatory rheumatic diseases and atherosclerotic inflammation is the leading role of TNF-α, IL-1, which determine anti-cytokine therapy.
