Antisynthetase syndrome: diagnostic and treatment peculiarities

Summary. Summary. The antisynthetase syndrome is a rare disease of unknown etiology which is the most severe subtype of polymyositis/dermatomyositis (PM/DM). The hallmark of the disorder is the presence of serum antibodies which recognize the aminoacyl-tRNA synthetases, which play a vital role in protein synthesis. The clinical picture is characterized by acute onset, presence of PM/DM, interstitial lung disease, Raynaud’s phenomenon, articular involvement. The clinical case with ACC is proposed.
