ANGIOGENESIS AS AN ESSENTIAL COMPONENT OF BEGINNING AND CHRONICITY OF RHEUMATOID ARTHRITIS

Komarova E.B. , Rebrov B.O.

Summary. Summary. According to the recent data of rheumatoid arthritis pathophysiology, angiogenesis is an important factor in the of pannus formation, synovitis and process chronicity, and vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) is a marker of angiogenesis and rapidly destructive course of rheumatoid arthritis. Data, given in medical literature and received in our own studies, show the correlative association of VEGF serum concentration with disease activity, radiographic progression and endothelial dysfunction development. The development of ultrasound technology allows to determine synovial vascularization and soft tissue involvement at the early stages of rheumatoid arthritis. Application of this technology is important for diagnosis, assessment of rheumatoid arthritis disease activity and progression as well as monitoring response to treatment.
